Renos

We spent the last few months working on renovations in our basement.  By working on I don't actually mean with our own hands, as we have a good understanding of what is outside our range of skills.  We worked to pick out all of the things and watch it all be put together.  It was a very fun process and we really enjoyed seeing it all take shape into such an amazing useful space.
We tried to keep in mind that we have 3 girls that will be growing into using this bathroom.  We are so very happy with the results.  It is a great beautiful space, with lots of storage and durable for the mess that the kids make in everything.  It is really great to have the towel hooks that are much easier for kids to hang up their own towels.  It all turned out so well.

Some before and after furnishings pictures.  We did have a lot of fun running around in the big empty room before we moved anything down there.  The kids love the deep windowsills and scaling up the walls to sit in them.

Elliette's room is also our guest room.  We were very excited to have our first visitor come and stay.  Great Grandpa came and stayed one night over Easter and it was so fun, like good old times, to have him here with us!  It was perfect that he was our first guest. So Elliette came and stayed upstairs so that Grandpa could use this comfy guest room.

The girls got to pick out the color of their new bedrooms.  It was really fun for them to see their rooms coming together and to anticipate this space to be their own.  It was nice to have them to help get their rooms all set up too, with pictures and a few special posters on their wall, it is now their own.
It is so nice and bright for a basement, with huge windows, it gets direct sunlight until about noon these days.  When the heat is going it is toasty and warm down there but on these few warmer days that we have been having it is perfect and cool down there.  A great retreat for me from any of the heat upstairs.  We are really happy to have the extra bedrooms for the kids and to be able to comfortably host guests, so plan to come and stay with us!!
