Introducing Deakin

We were so happy to welcome Deakin Jacob to our family on June 9th.  It all went well and Deakin was born at home.  Elliette figured out before he came that he would have to be a boy because all of our babies born in the hospital were girls and all of our babies born at home are boys.  So this baby had to be a boy because he was born at home.  Well, she was correct!

Deakin arrived at 10:50 pm and weighed in at 7 lbs 8 ozs and was 19.5 inches long.  We were happy that Nana made it safely from Guatemala just in time.  She beat Deakin arriving by only about 20 minutes.  It was even perfect timing for my mom to finish up her spanish class and dad to finish his meetings and to be on hand for Deakin's arrival. Paul even managed to take the girls to their special father's day date with their activity girls before things got too crazy.  What an evening!

He is so adored!  We are so happy to have him join our family!  We couldn't have planned better to have the 3 girls and then the 3 boys.  It is perfect!

Baylor could not get enough of him and did not want to leave his side.  He kept asking to hold him and would just sit still looking at him.  He was mesmerized.  It was very precious.

Dawsyn was also in serious love with this new baby.  She spent a lot of time with him.

Kyndal has really shown that she is a great big sister to this baby.  She is very helpful with him and very capable.  It is great to see.

Marshall did not want to hold the baby for a while.  We would offer him to hold his brother and he refused.  Then after most of the day had passed he was ready to give it a try.  He was very sweet holding him and giving him some love.

 I guess that we missed having a picture with Elliette holding him.  I would say that she was the least interested in him. I hardly saw her those first couple of days as she would pop in quick and then be off playing.  That is her way, to keep moving.  So she didn't sit still long enough to hold the baby much.

A Day at the Park

This is a picture from last fall that I found.  It is very fun to see the kids growing so much!

As we were getting ready to have this baby, the kids spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  They had a great time going to Prince's Island Park and to the Inglewood bird sanctuary.  Here is some of those great adventures with our 5 little munchkins!

A Few of our Favorite Things

Baylor is always playing with a ball.  He is also very organized about it.  He dribbles, stops and then shoots.  It is really cute to watch him.  He also frequently plays soccer, which includes him doing a lot of 'Scott Sterling's'.  Which includes him getting hit by the ball somehow and falling to the ground.  He is very funny! He loves the Ball!

 It was really great to take possession of our house.  I will have some separate posts about our house and the process that it will be to convert it from its current state into a home that is just right for our family!  We are very excited about it!

 Here is Kyndal's new favorite spot for reading at our new house!  It is a really great spot!

 We weren't able to do much demolition ourselves as there was a lot of asbestos.  We tried to salvage what we could though.  Elliette helped to tear out the railing. She took one of the railings like a baseball bat and swung away knocking out the other railings.  She had such a fun time!  Dawsyn also got to go and knock out the other side of the railing.  It made them so happy to participate in the demolition.

 I just love this boy with his books.  Every day he asks for Fly Guy or Piggie and Elephant books.  Those are his current favorite!

Belated Christmas- The Piano Guys

For Christmas we gave our girls (and Paul and I), tickets to see The Piano Guys.  They had mostly forgotten, as it wasn't until spring that we would be going to enjoy this.  When the day did come we had the most lovely evening out with our dear daughters!  

 Elliette asked for extra pickles at the restaurant and told them that she is a pickle maniac.  They brought her out this cute little plate of all different kinds of pickles.  She ate all of the tiny ones right away before I managed to document them.  It was thoughtful of them and Elliette really enjoyed extra pickles!

 We went out for a nice supper and then had the most fabulous time at the concert.  It really was so entertaining.  It was a super late night for both me and our girls, they were asleep as soon as we were in the car but was an experience that we will not soon be forgetting!
