At It Again

It has been a while since I have worked on a quilt.  It felt really good to make this quilt for my sweet new nephew, Reginald.  He is so adorable and I love to claim him in our family!  So I had to make a special quilt for him.  I am really happy with how it turned out!

It is simple but sweet.  I love to make a baby quilt!

Flashback!!

I have found some old pictures of quilts that I have worked on, lost on an old camera.  So here they are to display.  Some I may have posted on before but I am not sure, so here are some more of my quilts!

 I am really happy with this Oh, Canada quilt!  I love the Canada flag on the back and all of the little colorful ones on the front.  I love the swirls all over it.  I loved especially making it for Sharan to have in Guatemala.  A little piece of love and home there to cuddle with.  That makes me happy!

Good to share again for Canada's 150th birthday!

 This is a quilt that I was practicing a couple of new things.  I was trying a new technique for making pinwheels.  I had these 10" squares from a gift and they were perfect for this.  I love the bright happy colors and the batiks.  This was my first time working much with batiks.  I was also practicing some straight line quilting.  it was a challenge and I am happy to have this first attempt under my belt.

 This quilt was used as a service donation in our wards Relief Society service auction.  It went for the most points of the night.  I was very happy that someone loved it enough and that it has served them well.  That is the best thing, a well loved and used quilt!

 This was a very special project that I felt privileged to be invited to share in.  These quilts are made for 2 children whose father died in a car accident.  They are made with their fathers shirts to make up the leaves and hearts.  I was given these all done and ready for quilting and I worked to quilt them so that they can be loved by these children.

 I am grateful for the blessing it is to use something that I love to do to make a difference in someones life.

Dawsyns Special Days

Wow, there is a lot to recap of the celebrations that we had for Dawsyn this spring.  The first starts out with a partial family outing with the birthday buddies.  With Dawsyn and Ashley sharing a birthday, they have a very special bond.  So we were very happy to be able to have a fun day out together to celebrate.  This group went to practice our skills at InjaNation. We were able to do military and ninja style obstacle courses, up the run wall, rock climbing races, up big posts freestanding in the air, jousting over the foam pit, trampolining and one of my favorites trampoline dodge ball.  It was such a fun day, and amazing fun workout.  

For our girls 8th birthday they got to have their ears pierced.  So on Dawsyn's actual day we went and had a special date to have this done.  She was so brave and didn't even flinch in the least.  She said that it didn't hurt.  This girl is tough!  Of course she picked out the biggest, most sparkly things that she could fund.  She is a beauty!

That evening she got to have a special date with Daddy and Mommy both.  We took her to Japanese Village where there is good food and entertainment paired together.  They made an extra big fire for Dawsyn and she was thrilled!

On Easter Sunday we had a family birthday for Dawsyn, including a birthday cake, chocolate and cousin time.  She loved getting presents right on her cake. It is easy and cute both.  This may become a tradition! We shall see.

Up next for celebrating this very special girl is her baptism day.  Dawsyn made the amazing choice to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.  She worked to prepare herself to learn all that she could about the choice that she was going to make.  We had family home evening lessons about making promises to Heavenly Father, she had lessons from the sister missionaries about Gods plan for us and she has a growing testimony.  It was so special to have this wonderful day, shared with family and friends!

We are so proud of the amazing person that this sweet girl is.  She is so caring, loving and helpful!  We just adore her!

Dawsyn had strong ideas about what she wanted in her baptism dress.  She loves fancy things and this beautiful satin and lace dress is no exception.  We are so grateful for a talented grandma that worked so hard to make it to Dawsyn's desires.  It is so beautiful but doesn't compare to that face!

Aggie Days among other events....

My sweet family and some of the fun that we have.  I love what a picture truly captures, the happy moment together.  It doesn't show the stress, fighting and craziness that real life is but lets us remember the good part.  I love that part.

Here we are prepping Deakin for a summer of biking.  He needs to get used to his helmet for that to happen. So here he is, practicing with his helmet in his high chair.

Going with all 3 of my darling daughters to the Women's Broadcast.  It was a very special time to have them all with me!

Marshall learned to ride this bike immediately when spring hit.  He was doing so well on it that we had to get him a bigger bike.  He then asks to go for a bike ride every day.  He is progressing so well, even doing over a 7km ride.  I think that is pretty amazing for a 5 year old. His favorite ride is to go and look at the c-trains.  No surprise there.

These girls did a fun school project where they cut, glued and labeled the human skeleton. They had a fun time making it, playing with it and scaring their brothers with it.  There were many days after that Baylor was crying about the skeleton going to get him.  It was funny though because it sounded like he was saying that Satan was going to get him.  So while comforting him I would have a little chuckle about that.

Marshall is wearing one of his favorite shirts.  This was one of Pauls when he was a kid.  I believe that it was from his elementary school days where each group was named after baby birds.  So fun to have this awesome, retro shirt that Marshall loves to wear!

Baylor loves cars and driving anything that he could get his hands on, even if just pretending.  He can make a trip to home depot exciting.
