Traditions

Here is some of our beautiful life for the fall months.  

Uncle Todd getting some good smiles from Deakin.  What you can't see is all of the rest of the kids piled on the couch all around him.  I am always saying that if you are feeling lonely, come to our house, it will help you to feel very popular and loved.  That is definitely something that our kids are good at doing, giving lots of attention to anyone who walks in the door.

The kids especially enjoy the tradition of making chocolates.  They all want to have jobs, especially dipping, as they get to have their hands in the chocolate.  Marshall did not wane in his wanting to help and was there asking for jobs most of the day.  It is fun to find a job that a 5 year old can accomplish; rolling balls, sprinkling coconut, placing a nut on top.  He had a very fun time.

We had a great field trip to a horse ranch, Smokeywood acres.  The kids learned about care for horses and jobs for running a ranch.  They were able to participate in activities, like grooming a horse, seeing the stables, looking at equipment, making the arena safe by picking out rocks, feeding hay to the horses and even having a quad ride.  It was a really great field trip for all.  The only pictures that we managed to get was of Baylor, so cute, interacting with the horse.  I had to wrestle him for most of the time, to stay safe and clear from under the horses, while I had the baby strapped onto me.  It was a busy day but a great learning opportunity!

These cute boys making themselves a limo out of a box.  They were really funny dragging themselves along the kitchen floor in it.  Sometimes they were working in opposite directions.

I like these pictures as they show the real life of trying to get a good picture.  At any moment there is someone competing to get into it, or just wants to be involved.  This is typical, Marshall, diving in front and the girls trying to push him out.  Goofy kids!

The kids had a fun couple of days at Grandma and Grandpa's house as Paul, Deakin and I took a little trip to Ottawa.  More on that soon...
