We had a great time this summer building up the girls biking skills in preparation for them doing the ride from Banff to Canmore. We weren't sure if Dawsyn would be able to do the 25 km mountainous ride, her being only 7 but with the threat of her maybe not being able to participate, she stepped up her speed. She ended up being the leader of the pack for the ride and did so well!
We started by dropping the riders off in Banff, at the path. While they were doing their first leg, the boys and I drove to the middle spot to meet them for lunch. We had a fun time together and did our own little hike while we waited for the group to arrive.
The group arrived for a great picnic lunch and to enjoy the beautiful scenery. It was so lovely!
The riders all finished the trip by going the rest of the way to Canmore. Again, as the chauffeur, I met them there and drove the girls with me back to Banff. Paul completed the ride by biking back to Banff, which is a more challenging ride, at his own pace. We found a great park to wait while he was finishing his ride.
It was a great day. We hope to make this an annual event. It will even get better, in the future, as we will all get to participate in the rides, towing the boys behind!
