Some of our Fun on the Island

Here are a couple of other highlights from our trip to the Island.
We went out to Port Alberni.  It was fun to walk along the harbour, eat some seafood, visit and of course have ice cream!

That very patient boy!

Finding a new spot for blackberry picking along the beautiful harbour at Port Alberni.
Here are a few more of our fun at Cathedral Grove.

I think we are standing in front of the oldest tree in this forest. It is around 800 years old, 250 ft tall and 30 ft around.  It is huge and amazing.  We all had so much fun climbing and exploring around these great huge trees and the amazing forest that this kind of old growth provides.  It was so fun!

While we were on our trip Deakin was really getting better at his smiling!  He is such a joy and I am so grateful to catch little moments like this of this precious little baby!

We had a day that we were at the beach for 8 hours.  It was such a lovely time and was enjoyed by all!  The only downfall was that Marshall got sand rubbed into his eyes twice.  In the morning he recovered from it but later in the afternoon he had sand in his eyes and couldn't open them for hours.  He ended up falling asleep on a towel and we covered him up, hoping that he would wake and his eyes would feel better. Even after a long beach nap, it was a couple of hours before he could open his eyes.  The scratching on them and then the bright sun made them very sore.  Poor kid.  Not an experience that I will forget soon.
These boys did play most of the day with the dump truck.  They are so cute and such boys!
Most of the kids were building sandcastles towns for most of the day.  There were over 100 in one town and they each had more coming all over.  It was hours of work and effort to build and about 30 seconds of stomping rampages to destroy them all before we left.  Both were fun!
